VENI HARLAN is a multi-disciplinary creative who has enjoyed a varied and rewarding career as a graphic designer, photographer, art director, writer, educator, communications specialist, and environmental advocate. Her professional and personal interests aligned with the creation of Marsh Dog, an eco sustainable dog treat company. An interest in cultural anthropology brought about the book Evangeline Reconsidered, documenting handmade commercial signage, and current storytelling about Barq's Beverages. ​​A

Harlan completed an MFA in graphic design from Louisiana State University and a Fellowship in environmental communication from Loyola University New Orleans and maintains an endless curiosity in regional history, culture, and the natural world. Veni's Gulf Coast roots have often inspired her work which has been recognized in the fields of graphic design, conservation, and photography.

Veni currently freelances design and continues work on personal projects. She contributes time and talent to a number of charitable causes and champions initiatives that support breast cancer awareness, responsible pet ownership, and environmental education. She resides with her Borzoi in Baton Rouge, deep in the heart of beautiful and historic south Louisiana.
